The amp menu settings for GAME is set to HDMI > Enhanced. When I connect the PS via the DH790, and connect this to the tv, the PS4 does not show HDR, instead it shows a message saying that the connected tv does not support HDR. When I connect the PS4 *direct* to the tv, the PS4 can be displayed in HDR mode. The panels just have an hdr input and that ramps up contrast and color etc on the software side.I've recently bought this amp following purchase of a (other brand) 4k tv. The more natural colors you see in the hdr ones come because it switches to the bt2020 color range which afaik know isnt present on 8bit panels.

Not that while playing, i can actually even see the bulb in hdr mode while the brightness levels are significantly more. Make sure its plugged in to port 2 or 3,and enhanced hdmi is turned on in the tv.īut like i said, these may not work for you since yours is an ips panel.Īlso one odd case is where i manually force bt 2020 with watchdogs and turn down live color to low and color to 75 and it looks absolutely amazing. Temp is set to cool for ffxv and uc4,neutral for re7 the foliage and lighting looks looks phenomenal and pops like crazy. Temperature is neutral, i worked something with custom temp but its not a huge differenceīacklight 35+ atleast if you want nice bright spotsīut something around early 20ish gives really good blacks in games like re7, though i feel its not worth the compromise of losing pretty lightsīlack levels are better if theyre slightly south of 30 Sharpness 63, resolution 20-30 (ill lower this when im on the pro, but since my pro is mostly connected to the samsung im not sure) I cant vouch for them since 49' is a different panel than the 43'īacklight sits at around 15-50 depending on the game and how dark it is but 37ish works fine for most of them, with further adjustments done through the game settingsīlack level 30-35, any lower than 25 crushes them and 45+ washes them out for most games
